Water route, the flora and fauna of the river Sió

The river Sió is a tributary of the Segre of 77 kilometers. The road to the river is a circular road 2.7 km long that goes up to the side of the River Sió and the municipality of Montgai, and allows us to know the flora and fauna on the bank of the river. On this path we also find the river park and sports area, both suitable for exercise. The route is indicated by the garnet color.

The vegetation consists of a rich mosaic of habitats that include riparian forests, but also find reeds and rushes, shingles, wet meadows, etc. The dominant plant community in the forest of the shores of Sió is the Albae Rubio-Populetum with species such as willows, poplars, ash trees and shrubs of Bern species like bush, vineyards or tamarind.
